The Festival will be held on Elmwood
Avenue between West Ferry Street
and Lafayette Avenue, in the heart of
Buffalo’s premier shopping and dining
district. The twelfth Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts was held on August 27th and 28th and attracted an enthusiastic shopping crowd of 100,000 people. All booth spaces are 10’ x 15’. An attempt will be made to accommodate special requests in the order they are received. The Festival tries very hard to make every space a good space. Each exhibitor is responsible for collecting 8.75% New York State sales tax. For information, contact: NY State Department of Taxation & Finance; calls from within NY State 800-225-5829; calls from outside NY State 518-485-6800. The Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts is a juried show open to all artists and craftspeople. One of the festival goals is to encourage regional artists and craftspeople. To accomplish this we award one point in the jury scoring to Erie County and New York State residents. Participating artists must be present for the entire festival. No agents, dealers or representatives will be permitted. Photo identification may be required. All artists must supply their own booth, tables and chairs and are responsible for their safe set-up. Only one artist or artist partnership per application. Artist partnership applicants are permitted; no more than two artist partners per application. Partners are considered two artists who work on the same completed pieces. All work should be original and made by the artist, not manufactured. No "buy and sell" work will be permitted. All work displayed must be consistent with images submitted. The Festival will have on-site jurors to insure compliance during the festival. Work not consistent with the images will be required to be removed. Jurors will use the following guidelines in selecting eligible participants. "Whether one of a kind or produced in quantity, all work should reflect excellence of design and craftsmanship. Work should be well conceived, expertly executed, and show a creative identity of design." All submissions will be juried, but the Festival Committee reserves the right and responsibility to make final determinations as to the suitability of all work for inclusion into the show and the right to remove specific items or entire displays if deemed necessary. Tee shirts and other imprinted clothing must be printed by the artist with their original artwork. There is no clothing accepted imprinted with the words "Buffalo" or "Elmwood".
